Lapa Lopa's Inclement weather policy uses the following guidelines to determine if cleanings are canceled due to weather.
School Closures – If the school district(s) cancels school for the day due to weather or other emergency (snow, flooding, etc…), then all cleaning will be cancelled for that day and any local Lapa Lopa offices will be closed.
- Note that school delays do not result in cancellations by Lapa Lopa, although we recognize that cleaners and team members may be late in the start of the work day and that this may require some adjustments to schedule and communication to customers (neighbors).
Public Transit Closures – In the event that school is not in session, then Lapa Lopa will use the public transit system to determine the impact. If the local public transit system (buses, subway, etc…) is closed for the day, then all cleaning will be cancelled for that day and any local Lapa Lopa offices will be closed.
Notifications will be made to the affected Cleaners and Neighbors as well as Lapa Lopa staff. This assumes that all or some of those affected have access to electricity and phones. When the company is unable to notify Cleaners or Lapa Lopa staff, they are asked to use common sense and make their best assessment of the safety and practicality of the situation.
- Cleaners will not be penalized for any Blocks missed due to the cleanings cancelled due to inclement weather and related emergency events.
